I, the Lord of sea and sky
I have heard my people cry
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save
I who made the stars of night
I will make their darkness bright
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?
Here I am, Lord
Is it I, Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go, Lord
If You lead me
I will hold Your people in my heart
I, the Lord of wind and flame
I will tend the poor and lame
I will set a feast for them
My hand will save
Finest bread I will provide
'Til their hearts be satisfied
I will give my life to them
Whom shall I send?
Here I am, Lord
Is it I, Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go, Lord
If You lead me
I will hold Your people in my heart
I will hold Your people in my heart
Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name, you are mine.
Should you pass through the sea, I will be with you;
Or through the rivers, they will not swallow you up.
Should you walk through fire, you will not be scorched and the flames will not burn you.
For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.
This is the Word of the Lord.
Response: The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose;
Beside restful waters he leads me; he refreshes my soul. (Response.)
He guides me in right pathsfor his name’s sake.
Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side
With your rod and your staff
that give me courage. (Response.)
You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes;
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. (Response.)
Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come. (Response.)
Peter addressed Cornelius and his household: “The truth I have now come to realize,” he said, “Is that God does not have favourites” but that anybody of any nationality who fears God and does what is right is acceptable to Him.
“It is true, God sent his word to the people of Israel, and it was to them that the good news of peace was brought by Jesus Christ – but Jesus Christ is the Lord of all people, and he has ordered us to proclaim this to his people and to tell them that God has appointed Him to be judge of everyone, alive or dead. It is to Him that all the prophets bear this witness: that all who believe in Jesus will have their sins forgiven through His name.”
This is the word of the Lord.
Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God still, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father's house; if there were not, I should have told you. I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too. You know the way to the place I am going." Thomas said, "Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Dear Lord,
We remember John Patrick Kane, a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Dad always gave more than he would receive.
Lord hear us,
R: Lord graciously hear us.
Dear Lord,
We pray that we may be like Grandad, that we have eyes to see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad and a soul that never loses faith.
Lord hear us:
R: Lord graciously hear us.
Dear Lord,
Grandad's faith in you was boundless. Unite him now in endless joy with his beloved mum, dad, brothers and sisters in the paradise of heaven.
Lord hear us:
R: Lord graciously hear us.
Dear Lord,
We pray for all that are here today, virtually and in spirit to say farewell to Grandad. He was loved by so many may he rest in peace.
Lord hear us:
R: Lord graciously hear us.
Dear Lord,
We thank you for the gift of having Grandad as part of our lives for so many years. May he rest now in peace with you.
Lord hear us:
R: Lord graciously hear us.
Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me bring your love;
Where there is injury your pardon, Lord;
And where there's doubt true faith in you.
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace
Where there's despair in life let me bring hope;
Where there is darkness, only light;
And where there's sadness, ever joy.
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
In giving to all men that we receive;
And in dying that we're born to eternal life.
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love with all my soul.
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
